Nissan Virals & website

TBWA and online agency DUKE joined forces to create this viral campaign for the launch of the new Nissan QUASHQAI car. A series of films featuring preposterous car stunts drives viewers to the website www.qashqaicargames.com, which celebrates the spoof extreme car games and includes a history, rules, fan sites and driver profiles.

To further confuse reality with fiction, there is a page of links to genuine extreme sports sites as well as, naturally, a click-through to the Nissan website.

I added a live feed from del.icio.us social bookmarking service, so we can throw our net wider and see what other people are looking at.

I've used the "japanese" tag, though I'm sure there are others that could be useful: teeth, japan (most popular links), ...

Lost in Translation

Here's a little nugget from one of those Boing Boing posts:

"citizenj says:

I'm not sure if you've noticed or not, but Google's translation from Japanese to English of the Little Car Kits site comes up with some serious Engrish going on:

"Electlic? It delivers the feeling of being stoked to you as the Santa Claus does?"

Wow."

There's got to be some mileage in the automatic translation/babelfish area...
